I came here while in Richmond for trucking on a solo trip to watch the Super Bowl (Pats Fan) my overall experience was a 10. The wings I had was a 8/10 they could’ve had more flavor but I’m not complaining about that just giving a honest opinionated review, the cheesesteak eggrolls were a 7/10 could’ve been more cheesier and flavorful. The game was poopy lol my team could’ve played better than just in the 4th quarter. The drinks I had were a 10, bartenders were very nice and prompt with drinks for everyone at the bar. The environment was very welcoming and friendly especially the customers that were watching the game interacting with each other and talking about the game. I highly recommend this place if you’re visiting or want to watch a sports game anywhere but home or in a hotel room.
Wood & Iron is a pretty average restaurant overall. The place itself is nice, with a good atmosphere and a casual vibe that works well for hanging out or watching a game. For appetizers, I ordered the fried pickles and the queso cheese dip. They were decent, but nothing really stood out or impressed me. For the main entrée, we went with burgers, which were fine but fairly standard and nothing memorable. Service was okay and the restaurant was clean, but the food just didn’t wow me enough to make it a must-return spot. It’s not bad by any means, just average for what it offers. If you’re nearby and looking for a casual place to eat, it’ll do the job, but there are definitely better options out there. Overall, I’d rate Wood & Iron as a solid 3-star place.
We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, jumbo Bavarian soft pretzel, fried goat cheese and mixed berry salad with grilled chicken, and the onion straws. The spinach artichoke dip and fried goat cheese salad were both top tier & two of the best dishes in the city imo. I really liked the pita chips that came with dip. I got the smaller salad & it was almost too much for one meal. The only thing I didn’t really like were the onion straws. They tasted too lemony or something. But overall everything was great.
Wood and Iron was a mixed experience for me. The space inside is roomy and gives off more of a standard restaurant feel with a bar. Nothing bad, just nothing memorable. The food was okay, typical bar fare. The wings are smoked, which is a nice touch, and the burgers are decent. But overall, the menu didn’t really excite me. I didn’t love the food or drink options. The cocktails were way too liquor-forward to actually enjoy, and nothing on the menu stood out enough to make me want to come back for more. That said, the service was great. Friendly, fast, and attentive, which I always appreciate. If you’re looking for a chill spot with solid service and standard bar food, this might hit the mark. But personally, it wasn’t my kind of place.
This place came highly recommended so I decided to give it a whirl. Unfortunately it was probably one of the worst experiences food-wise I've ever had. Our table ordered a goat cheese flatbread and it was incredibly slimy and wet and greasy. Not a lot of flavor other than the goat cheese. I ordered the flat iron steak sandwich and it came out like there was a pile of dog food on it. I was expecting maybe some fresh cut meat and fresh vegetables because it said it had onions peppers and mushrooms but it's like it was slop all blended together nothing was fresh about that sandwich, it tasted like something out of a bucket. Also the macaroni and cheese that I got as a side was mushy and bland. I had gotten the combo plate so it came with wings and though my mush was all very hot the wings wer
