Working Men's Institute

Cosy library with a deep and rich history and filled with wonderful staff and locals. I loved chatting with everyone. I loved their book selection, they have great taste. Also fascinating museum upstairs.

The upstairs museum of this library is so cool! Very historical with beautiful murals and lots of unique items on display. Just enjoyed a lecture on photographing the 4/8/24 solar eclipse. The grounds hold an unique red sculpture, and a time capsule!!

This is not only a museum and venue, but also is the oldest continuously operating library in the state of indiana. While the museum is small, it has a wide variety of artifacts. The institute was established during one of the utopian experiments to give the ordinary working men an educational resource. Cool local history to check out.

This is a really cool museum and library with tons of great old paintings and artifacts. Library has lots of books too. We spent about an hour in the museum but I'm sure you could spend much more time there.

Lovely neighborhood, historic gem! Must-see for any history buff. So glad they have a elevator to the museum.
