Great little spot! The Xibei Beef Noodle here is a must-try—the noodles and soup are both excellent. On top of the great food, the prices are really affordable, the staff is super nice, and the service is lightning fast. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Walk ins only, with a rather small dining area so make sure to get there well before your dining time. The soup dumplings were incredible, the black truffle dumplings were so decadent with a perfectly light truffle taste. The crab and pork dumplings were good, but could have used more soup filling. The Mapo Tofu was decent (definitely left my palate numb- as it is intended to do). The tofu was a bit too soft for my preference, would have liked a bit firmer tofu for texture sake. Otherwise a great restaurant and very well priced!
Absolutely one of the best places in New Jersey for authentic Northwestern Chinese food! The beef noodle soup is rich and full of flavor — tender beef, chewy handmade noodles, and a perfectly spiced broth that’s deeply satisfying. The dry-fried green beans are crispy, garlicky, and packed with wok aroma. And the Big Plate Chicken is a must-try: hearty, slightly spicy, and loaded with chicken, potatoes, and wide noodles that soak up all the sauce. The staff are friendly, service is quick, and the food tastes just like home-style Xibei comfort cooking. Highly recommend for anyone craving real Lanzhou or Xinjiang-style dishes!
Gave this a try from someone's recommendation. You need to love the taste of five spice to enjoy the monstrous chicken dish. Also request a small bowl to eat with it. Came in a hot pot and we were given plates which made no sense. Xi bei beef noodles tasted good but quite salty. Texture of noodles are good, but the dishes we ordered was mostly just hype. Staff was friendly.
Came with high expectations because of the “hand-pulled noodles” sign outside, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Ordered the beef dao xiao mian. The flavor itself was decent, but the noodles were clearly dried, store-bought knife-cut noodles, not handmade as advertised. For the price point, this was disappointing and didn’t feel like good value. Atmosphere is okay and they serve hot water right away, which is a plus. However, the cup had visible stains, which made the experience uncomfortable. Overall, not terrible in taste, but misleading expectations and pricing make it hard to recommend.
