Xie Bao Crab House

I'm surprised that it has the taste that I tried in China! Crab roe over rice is mouthwatering! It’s a bowl full of fresh crab roe and suitable for two person serving. The spicy beef shank is delicious! It's not spicy with a little savory. The environment is modern, clean, and peaceful. It has excellent ambient music, very relaxing. The staff here are so welcoming and friendly. A great treatment to myself after visiting museum.

The food was quite good, but the restaurant was very small. I think making a reservation may be necessary if you’re coming Saturday night. The staff is all super friendly. The squirrel fish is definitely worth getting! I would also definitely recommend getting anything crab related! The crab with noodles/rice was very good as were the pan fried buns! The pork belly and lotus were not my favorite, but the crab is where it’s at! The crab/pork moon cake and soup buns were a bit disappointing since I was excited for these. I would recommend the crab roe soup dumplings over the other 2 we got in the combo. The meilin congee is extremely filling but tastes alright.

Simply a small and great restaurant if you want to enjoy the crab roe which is insanely popular in China. The rice might be jasmine rice (idk) and very soft and bouncy, adding the crab roe make it even better like the experience is truly not describe. The servant are very hospitable and give us free fried peanuts and tell us about the exact portions of things we want to order, which is a big plus. Menu are accessible while includes various dishes that takes a lot of time to pick! I really want it to be open next to my apartment…

If you love crab roe, this is the place to go. Very authentic Chinese food that soothes your soul. It’s a tiny hole in the wall restaurant so seating is limited. Highly recommend making a reso on the weekend. We came on a weekday night and it was decently packed, glad we made a reso as we have a child with us. Thankfully they sat us at the very front booth so there was plenty of room to store our folded up stroller and the booth seating helped with our busy toddler. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic. 3/4 dishes we ordered had crab roe in it! Especially love the crab roe on noodle, this is their signature dish. I also recommend the roe on vegetables. The seasonal sweet and sour fish was done really well too. 11/10 will come again!
