Xscape NYC

I visited Xscape two Saturdays ago to celebrate a birthday. I honestly wanted to like Xscape but I just cant. Here's why, I visited last year in February and we had fun, the music was good and so was the service. However, the next day when looking at the bill we couldnt make sense of it. There was something about the added gratuity and the way the drinks were charged. We called and spoke to the Manager and he didnt help much. Fast forward to this year. We came as a party of 5, we were told the sofas on the left were for bottle service. It wouldn't have been a big deal except the sofas on the right were all messed up, beat up and broken down. The mandatory service charge does not include gratuity for the servers. When I tried explaining to the manager, Sing that I felt that this was unfair to the employees he became irritated and unprofessional. The young ladies who work there deserve better compensation. On top of this the drinks taste like they are made with bottom shelf alcohol and they do not have a full bar. Would not recommend nor will my group and I ever return.

On 9/6 they saved the night as we are gathering a birthday. First we went to KISS ENTERTAINMENT and wasted an hour there. they were supposed to open at 8, we got there at 9 to be told( well just go see my review on their page) any how Exscape is a Nice space, standard size, actually a little bigger than a few other lounges I have been too. Seat and tables good for me as I have reached the age where standing all night is not desirable. The music is a good blend of 2000’s music/Caribbean music Happy hour has good prices even though we missed it. Not crowded. Bouncer even had a nice tone. Bad service and bad vibes. Place was complexly empty on a Friday night, and never have I been to a hookah place that’s charged me to change the hookah coals. I requested a coal change as the hookah was dying, which most places do without even having to ask. The server first told us it was $26, and I requested to speak to a manager to clarify why a simple coal change costed money after we already paid $40 for the hookah. He then told me that they charge for a coal change and nobody’s ever complained, and all of a sudden the new price was $10. Inconsistent and weird pricing for a hookah spot.
