Yama Japanese Restaurant

First the good stuff. The sushi was excellent. Really enjoyed both dishes. The service was excellent but it took a long time after being seated for anyone to come around. Now some other stuff. First the restaurant is dated and really needs a redecoration. Even the outside sign made us think twice if we really want to go inside. The shrimp pad Thai was really underwhelming. Overcooked shrimp 🍤 and lacked in taste. Stick to Sushi 🍱

My Aunt who’s a local recommended this spot for lunch. Ginger dressing salad (not pictured due to consumption), Thai edamame, spicy tuna roll, salmon avocado roll, and eel cucumber roll were all SO good and fresh. Will definitely be returning!

Despite the restaurant being slow on a Friday night, this had to be some of the best sushi roll and sashimi I've had. The sashimi (tuna, yellow tail, and smoked salmon) were among the freshest you could find at a Japanese restaurant. The service is quick, friendly, and frequent so you never feel ignored by your servers. Fairly priced and well worth it. I highly recommend trying Yama

Man, used to be my go to place when I was in the area. Complete rip off now. The website online order is misleading. You pay like 8 dollars for ONE PIECE, not roll of sushi. I ordered 4 coming to like 35 bucks thinking I was going to get 4 rolls. Show up, she shows me a picture and I didn’t know what she was saying. But I pay and come to find out it’s 4 individual pieces. So I guess she was showing me a picture and told me it’s 4 individual pieces but I had no idea what she was saying from the heavy accent. So if they know they have to show a picture and tell people… that says a lot. I’m done going here such a rip off

Oh NO! What happened?! Listen, I 1000% understand that costs for everything have gone up. But a cucumber roll that used to cost $4 now is $8. Markup isnt a couple dollars but they DOUBLED their prices for almost everything. Not only that but the quantity is MUCH MUCH smaller. We loved this place. We would pick up from here a few times a month. Unfortunately, we will not be supporting this movement. This is just crazy.
