Yamato Hibachi & Sushi Bar

My party was extremely dissatisfied with our experience at Yamato‘s Saturday evening. We had made a reservation several days ago for 6 PM and when we arrived on time they told us it would be 10 to 15 minutes for a table. We proceeded to wait 30 minutes and when we went to check in again, our table was still not ready. This was my friend‘s birthday dinner and her favorite hibachi grill which is why we decided to dine there. I understand that restaurants are busy on Saturday night as someone who works in the industry but reservations shouldn’t be accepted if there’s no space for them. The must frustrating part was that there were two other parties with 6 PM reservations that arrived after us and were seated more promptly. I was here in July, ordered two dinners for me and my boyfriend for takeout and we found metal in our food. The manager said he applied credit to our account for free meals and never said there was an expiration date to come in and redeem it. I was told to just come in and give my phone number. I walked in today to redeem as some time past and we wanted to give them a try. We were rejected, even with evidence of what was said on the phone and the guy at the front just said well… it’s been 6 months. Of course it would take time if I almost swallowed METAL while eating from here. Don’t come here or be aware of what is on your plate and your bites. Highly disappointed. Won’t be coming back again off the fact they don’t honor what they say.

One of the worst bar experiences I’ve had in a long time. A few friends and I sat at the bar at Yamato Hibachi & Sushi Bar in Norwood just planning to have a couple drinks. Right away the bartender had an attitude and immediately told us she would NOT do separate tabs — only one tab for the whole group. It wasn’t just the policy, it was the way it was said: rude, dismissive, and like we were already an inconvenience just for sitting down. We agreed to one tab anyway and ordered a round of drinks. After we finished, I simply asked for another drink. Instead of taking the order, the bartender turned around, went straight to the computer, printed the bill, and slammed it down on the bar in front of us without saying a word. We had a wonderful meeting. The chef, with a great sense of humor and a cheerful approach, cooked us delicious food. Very delicious. Nice place, friendly service, fantastic food. :)

We had a party of 21 & called ahead for seating. They did a great job getting our group settled quickly. Very fun presentation, delicious food & leftovers! Excellent service.
