Yamato Japanese Steakhouse

Well, this was an experience to say the least. This is the only Japanese steakhouse/Asian cuisine in about a 45-mile radius. The restaurant is small but quaint and clean, and the menu is extensive. We ordered a sushi roll, hibachi meals, a soda, and waters. The food was served quickly, portions were generous, and everything tasted good. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. We weren’t given plates for our sushi and had to ask for a soy sauce dish, extra napkins, and drink refills after glasses sat empty. Dirty dishes piled up on the table and were never cleared, even when we pushed them to the edge of the table. The salad dressing bottles were also left at the table for the entire dining experience. We kicked off our holiday season tonight at Yamato Japanese Steakhouse of Madison IN. Let me say we were so pleased, greeted with smiles, joy and felt welcomed by everyone. We started with sushi rolls, all very tasty. Salads, soups then entrees, ALL presented perfectly timed. We will return next time when we visit Madison Indiana.

Food was the best we’ve ever had going out to eat, our waitress kaiella, was the kindest and made the experience great!

Food here was good. Salads and soup was fresh. Really good miso. The steak and shrimp well cooked and the yumyum sause is delicious. Service was great. Our server was so kind and friendly we even tried to offer her new employment. Must visit for Japanese cuisine.

This little out of the way restaurant is amazing. Its tucked over in the corner and the sign is a little faded but the food is great and the prices were very reasonable. Realistically this place should have a crowd all the time. My wifes sushi rolls were gone before i could get a picture. Fried dumpling are amazing. Even my side of noodles was very tasty. Definitely addinf this place to my go to spots for excellent food. Two full meals with appetizers and extra sides and drinks was $45 total.
