Yen Ching Hull Street

Cold rainy day + good Chinese food= happy belly! Was missing a side of fried rice, the soup was lukewarm, and the egg roll was cold. Besides all that the lo mein had a lot of chicken and the orange chick was moist and delicious! Will be back hopefully will have everything I ordered.

I’ve edited this review 3 times. OMG this food is beyond amazing. NOT your typical Chinese food experience. I was disappointed at first because a family-sized order is $18 and only feeds one person. Service was fast and friendly. But this is THE BEST CHINESE FOOD I’VE EVER HAD! It was delicious! I ordered a family-sized meal and we’re both still very hungry. If we had known what small portions were served, we’d have planned on spending $60 for a meal for 2 people — I’m definitely going to be back 🤩

Went during a weekday lunch, very pretty decor and quiet atmosphere. Full drink menu was available, not just beer and wine. Started off with a hot and sour soup appetizer, which was flavorful and full of ingredients. For an entrée I ordered the happy family- beef, chicken, shrimp and scallops in brown sauce, with a side of fried rice. A huge heaping portion that I couldn't finish all of, and super delicious. The only two knocks for the meal were the rice- it wasn't exactly fried and just tasted like white rice that had been tossed in soy sauce or something? Still tasted fine, just wasn't really fried. The other thing being one of the scallops in the meal wasn't properly cleaned so it had gritty sand/ pebbles or something attached to it still. No big deal, it didn't ruin the rest of the foo

I have finally found a Chinese restaurant equal to those I frequented in California!! The staff are very friendly and the food excellent. The restaurant has a soothing atmosphere and is very popular. I have finally found my Chinese restaurant!!! And oh no... another expensive habit because I now go almost every other day because their food is so good! Most meals start at about $14. Some appetizers start at $2.95. I'm hopelessly hooked :)

I was very disappointed after ordering from Yen Ching. They are not the same as they used to be. I called in for delivery and woman was very rude, they discontinued what was on the menu. I ordered a combination platter which is shrimp, chicken, beef and mixed vegetables. When it came it was not even full and had only 2 shrimp, mostly broccoli. It cost 18.95 plus 5.00 delivery plus I tipped. That one order was $30 and wasn’t even filled up plus only 2 shrimp. In my opinion, that does not deserve a second time. I was definitely not an appreciated customer.
