Customer Reviews
Although the small cafe with an even smaller menu is a Chicago tradition as common and plentiful as a cold day in the winter, sometimes you find yourself eating in a place that embody the spirit of putting your customer at ease. There's nothing on the menu that will inherently grab your attention but the quality of service and ingredients. And the peaceful sensation that can overtake you is not to be understated. Although it has that nineteen fifties diner feel, but with more modern, almost hipster themed esthetic with their furniture and design layout. One can easily find themselves turning this place into your next quite area for a group to hang out, or drifting mentally off someplace tranquil due to the calming effect. In an otherwise busy area in a busy city. Pros: Simple menu, simp
10/10!!! What an unbelievable surprise for a lunch. I stopped in on a whim and was greeted by super friendly owners and a cute family owned restaurant. I decided to “splurge” on the lamb chops and they melted in my mouth with flavor, cooked to perfection. They were only $25 which included mashed potatoes and asparagus. The meal blended together perfectly. I also got the lentil soup which was perfect for a cold Chicago day. I am so excited Youmas Kitchen, named after their two sons Yousuf and Moma, has made it to wicker park.
Stumbled across this place today— really welcoming atmosphere and staff! I got the lentil soup and a hot coffee, both were delicious, and the restaurant smelled amazing. Will definitely be back to try some of their specialties :) Highly recommend
Best new spot in Wicker Park! The Lentil Soup, Chicken Wrap, and Steak Sandwich were all fresh and delicious. Washed it down with some homemade lemon tea. Can't wait to come back and try the breakfast!
For starters, this IS the best lentil soup I've ever had in all of Chicago! Fresh, lemon tang and beautiful yellow color. Deeelicious! Also try the Kuba Rice Soup, a traditional soup I didn't know about before. Their food is fresh daily, healthy and delicious. It's a family business with husband Amir, wife Shaymaa and their 2 sons. Happiness guaranteed! The vibe is just what you want chefs to have and restaurants to be! So good I had to order food to go for tomorrow!
