Zaxby's Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings

I had the cobb zalad, which I've had at other Zaxby's and really like. This one was a bit skimpier and the flavor wasn't as good. I don't know why that would be so maybe my tastes was off. My husband ordered the new Asian chicken zalad, he had been looking forward to after seeing it advertised on tv. He was disappointed, said it looked better on TV than it was.

I was traveling through Danville and stopped at Zaxby’s around 11:15 a.m. for lunch with my family of three. The doors were unlocked, and both the online hours and the signage on the door clearly stated a 10:00 a.m. opening time. However, as soon as we walked in, we were immediately told, “We aren’t open yet.” Yet, the doors were unlocked and we were able to walk in. I politely asked what time they would be opening since everything indicated they should already be open. Two cashiers went to the back, and another employee came out from the kitchen area and simply said, “We aren’t open.” When I asked again what time they would be open, she responded rather rudely, “Late opening today,” without offering any explanation or estimated time. Stopped by the Zaxby's here in Danville, VA, for a quick lunch and finally got to try the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Honestly, it's a new favorite. The chicken itself is perfectly breaded and incredibly juicy, but the real star is the flavor and heat. They've nailed the spice level—it's got that wonderful, building warmth that makes your tastebuds stand up and take notice, but it never crosses the line into painful. It's a great flavor that's complemented by just a nice amount of heat. If you like a kick without needing to chug a gallon of water, this is it. But what's a sandwich without the perfect side? The only reason I gave one star was because the lady that took my order was so nice about the 30 minutes it took to get a 4 finger plate. There’s no help. The rest of the staff look like they don’t want to even work. My food was warm at most when I finally got it. Top it all off they were out of cookies again! Like this the 6th time I’ve come in and there’s no cookies. As a general manager in the food industry I know it’s rough out here, but there is no supervision in the store and I watched customers walk about because nobody is taking their order. Employees walking around the lobby drinking sodas like they are customers. It’s a circus here. Maybe they need a change in ring leader.

Every single time we have been here in the past 6 months it has taken at least 45 minutes in drive thru and that’s with 2 maybe 3 other vehicles in the drive thru. The inside of the restaurant is nasty, the staff sucks. How damn long does it take to fix some chicken nuggets. You can go to a fancy steakhouse, wait on a table, eat, and be out and on your way before you even get up to the order window at this Zaxbys. Not to mention, every single time they have messed something up in the order. Worst fast food experience ever.
