Zazas Pizzeria - Lakeview

We tried five different pizzas, they were absolutely delicious. The flavor was out of this world amazing. We especially loved the focaccia as an appetizer as well. The service was super friendly and wonderful! Highly recommend you take a trip over to Zaza‘s pizza in Lincoln Park!

We tried seven slices—truffle mushroom, Mike’s hot pepperoni, bacon jam, special, sausage, white, and gold medal—and every single one was delicious. I really loved how many of the recipes had sweet or spicy hints that made them stand out. My favorites were the truffle mushroom, the special, and Mike’s hot pepperoni, while the white slice was the most unique with its sesame crust and touch of lemon.

If you’re looking for typical NY corner shop with a big slice of pizza for cheap, this isn’t the place for you. Not worth the price for the serving size, it was 8 bucks for a super thin, very small pepperoni slice with a can of soda. The crust was very chewy and overcooked after being reheated for serving. The guys behind the counter serving pizza was nice but the cashier was on her phone and didn’t acknowledge me when the card reader didn’t work, seemed like a high schooler that didn’t care about the job, kept sitting down with customers to talk while customers were waiting to order. Ambiance didn’t match the outside, gives the look of an elegant sit down restaurant, the storefront look could use a revamp. But hey the pizza tasted like pizza ✅

As a former New Yorker, I'd say this is almost a perfect NY slice, but it's missing a crucial element: the soft and airy crust. Mine was dense and way too chewy, and after just two slices my jaw felt like it was about to fall off. Even though the flavors were superb, I can't give it any higher than a 6 or 7 out of 10.

Zaza's is my go-to spot whenever I'm ordering food for me and a group of people. The pizza is consistent and always gets rave reviews from my friends. The white pie is my absolute favorite. We also got the bacon jam pie and their seasonal salad. Both were delicious. The service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend!
