Zippy's Kapahulu

I was recommended to try Zippy's by my Uber driver. I did accidentally buy the meal and didn't realize it was a family meal so the price gave me a heart attack lol. I should have got the plate, it was my first time and now I know. I got the 9 piece fried chicken meal with rice and macaroni salad. The rice is cooked really good and the Mac salad was quite delicious. You can't get macaroni salad everywhere and most times it's not handled the best. I was happy the mac salad at Zippy's is quite good. Now to the most important part the chicken. At first I thought the chicken was crispy but the skin was kind of bland. Breakfast at Zippy was ok, not crazy about the food and cashier wasn't cheerful and willing to answer rather than "no". Even it was Saturday morning but not busy at all (maybe delivery I don't know) big pick-up order ahead of us and that it. I like to try local food but sometime if it is not delicious it is not. We had breakfast and eggs set and Korean fried chicken. None of them worth the price I pay. The potion is big, but the test is bland.

We got the Zippy’s special and also oxtail soup. The chili tasted really good! much different from mainland US chili. I like this place a lot better than rainbow drive in. The oxtail soup was very nice: peanut broth flavor

Felt like a Hawaiian version of fast food. We got the popular zip meal that Included chicken, soam, fish, a d steak woth rice. It was super delicious for fast food.

My Uber driver suggested we try Zippys since we were not happy with another restaurant. My wife had the spaghetti with Chile and absolutely loved it. I had the chicken plate and thought it was good. The chicken was crispy but not greasey, and the potato salad was nice and creamy. The chicken was nice and moist but could have used a little more flavor in the coating for my taste.
