Customer Reviews
Went there with 2 other couples, 3 kids total, enough space for us all to spread out. High chairs were available, and the gentleman working the BBQ place were polite and awesome. Definitely worth stopping their for lunch.
I was disappointed by the bland cheeseburger. The spices in the black pepper family were the most prominent flavor I got from it. It was also salty and I chose not to finish eating it. The large fries were okay, but I had to wipe the excessive salt off of them one by one. On the plus sides: The line was consistently long, but they serve up pretty quickly. They also served up the burger and cheese on the bun only, with lettuce, pickles, and tomato on the side. Condiments were in packets to the side of the ordering area. Perfect for those picky eaters. If you are at the zoo, find a different spot.
Absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. Diego and Nestor were the ones working behind the counter. They would take someone's order, put it on the grill, and sit there whispering and laughing with each other. Once the food was done (>5 min later), then they would serve it to the customer before taking the next customer's order. I waited 10 min to order a hot dog that took 2 min to cook. The ineptitude and incompetence was absurd. Nestor spent most of his time going back and forth from the kitchen to behind the kitchen, doing nothing in particular. The woman behind us got frustrated after waiting over 15 min and asked if she could go ahead and order because they were just sitting there leaning against the counter.
The burgers here are good. The prices are reasonable. I love the pickles that are free at the sauce bar. Be sure to go to this place and the Fort Zoo just before the season rush.
Have to say we missed the Tigers and the Lions and the flamingos but it was a good 4-Hour walk. My nephew had a blast
