The food is great! The atmosphere is casual, the waitress was really attentive and overall it was a great place to eat in the town of Carrizo Springs, I will definitely go back. The only thing that in my opinion needs some work is the restrooms. Maybe throw some ceramic tile on the floors and update the stalls because it looks like they've taken a beating but it's not a deal breaker... just a suggestion. They have great lunch deals and the portions are GENEROUS! They have a bar and a room with pool tables and even a room that looks like they may have live bands play? Will visit next time I'm in that town.

We really enjoyed our first visit here. Our waitress, Liz, was so enjoyable and attentive. She made some menu recommendations and they were spot on. We both ordered the catfish platter with homemade onion rings, asparagus, and baked potato. All were outstanding. My husband also had the boudin balls as an appetizer and loved them as well. It was our first visit here but it won’t be our last even though they are roughly 50 miles from our home! Edited to 2 stars - went back in Oct. 2025 and the food wasn’t anywhere near the same. Everything was so salty we could barely eat it and it tasted like they were using old cooking oil.

Good burger, good appetizers, good sides. Unfortunately, their steaks are a huge disappointment. We ordered the Ribeye which is around $35. Ordered it med rare, came out overcooked. Sent it back. New steak came back very rare. Sent it back. Cooked closer to med rare this time but they had to slice it. Very unpleasant experience eating their steak. Not tender whatsoever. Difficult to chew. Fat wasn't rendered so impossible to chew. A melt-in-your-mouth steak such as a Ribeye was not done justice. My wife and I did not even finish eating it. Thankfully, the kind waitress provided a discount off our total bill. We recommend everything else but their steak. A steakhouse should be known for their steak, but, sadly, I highly recommend avoiding them. 5D's steaks used to be so good but the quality

Food was ok, service was just slow. This was our first time here and we came on a Tuesday for lunch. We were there for a hour and a half. I don't know of they were just short staffed that day or if that's how it always is.

After sitting and reading the reviews I got a little worried about what to order. I ordered the little Texas burger. It was decent and came out hot. Couldn't tell if the burger was from frozen or not. It was thick but very perfectly round burger. So frozen or cooked in a burger ring. Either way it was good. A little heavy on the jalapenos so I took some off. Overall it was a good burger and I wasn't disappointed in my choice. Service was a bit slow to the table. But at least my food was nice and hot. Nice little place.
