Acton Public Library

Great public library! Well staffed. Make sure to check out the large tile mural in hallway which has a wonderful history of Connecticut and Old Saybrook area with one of a kind hand painted tiles and descriptions!

I would have rated them a 5 in the past. I vacation every year in this area for 25 plus years and always use the library. I made the mistake of forgetting to renew my town’s library card (also in CT) this year. The library staff member refused to let me take a book out. I pointed out another woman had let me take out a couple of books earlier in the week. She said she broke the rules. Seriously?! I gather anarchy would have resulted if I took a book out. Unbelievable.

I found myself helplessly lost and stopped by the library today. A young woman who was fairly new to the town immediately helped me by printing out a map to my destination. I was so impressed by the friendly reception and use of the restroom! So nice to think you can still trust a library. As a senior, I do appreciate it! I also love books. I am a retired teacher who developed a teaching method which incorporated literature, dance, music and art, called Storybook dance. Well done !

I love this library and their consistency! I've had exams proctored here several times, and the staff is friendly and took care of me. I especially appreciate their hours, being open until 8:00 on most nights, which is great for studying in a town where coffee shops close at like 3!
