Alex's Thai Cuisine

Entered expecting to eat there; but apparently only takeouts for some reason. Food was bland; not great but not terrible. Better off heading to Yah Yai a couple feet away

My first thai experience in va was a disaster. The tom yum soup I ordered was nasty, not made the authentic way at all and had two little mushrooms in it, barely any chicken, and all broth. The jasmine rice I ordered was overcooked. To top it off I waited 2 hours for uber to bring it and I couldnt get my money back. Over priced and underwhelming.

I called Alex Thai Cuisine at about 9.40 pm to order some take out. I didn't know the menu so I just ordered a standard Thai dish what I often get when going out for Thai food. I ordered a green curry with chicken. The gentleman on the phone was very nice, he explained me , without me even asking, how to find the place and from which street to come and park since they closed that little are for traffic. I arrived at 9.58pm, 2 minutes before they close, and again great customer service and we also had a little chat about Thailand. My food was ready and I paid, I didn't feel rushed or anything like that. I'm not really sure about the gentlemans name, it might have been Alex, I guess he in his fifty's and Originally from Thailand. Very nice man and great customer service. The food was also g

Food was good until we found a hair in the curry we ordered. I have purple hair and my friends hair is short so it was definitely one of the cooks. Noodles were way overcooked but the flavor was ok. We unfortunately lost our appetite due to the hair.

The man who took my order on the phone was very rude. I asked for extra sauce on the phone and he told me that is not how Pad Thai is supposed to be and he doesn't know why people ask for that. I insisted that I prefer extra sauce. When I received my food my request was fulfilled regarding adding extra sauce, however, the taste of the Pad Thai itself lacked flavor. The food and service was awful and my food was cold. I definitely won't come back and I only came here because Patio Thai was closed.
