Baan Thai Family Cuisine

Very convenient and located right in the center of the Main Street in Kona. Open fairly late and doesn’t get busy, located on the 2nd floor. I ordered take out for my parents, the number wasn’t working so I just ran over. They serve Thai and Vietnamese Pho. We ordered Tom yum soup with shrimp and it came with a side of white rice and it was nice and spicy. We also ordered their stir fried rice with beef and it was oddly sweet. Large amount of portions and was over $50 with tip for just those two dishes. It served 3 of us and was plenty. Not ocean front views but large inside and spacious and you can see the strip. There’s parking lots not too far a couple of streets away.

Really great addition to the Kona food scene. Gave this place a try and it’s was super good. Stand outs were the Panang curry and the pad kee mao noodles (I ordered this with rice noodles instead of the chow mein noodle). Very delicious and I’m looking forward to going back!

Absolutely delicious food! My wife had the pineapple stir-fry with fried tofu. I had the green curry with chicken. Spice level 3 out of 5 was plenty spicy. Perfect portion sizes. Our waitress was super polite, friendly and efficient. The chef even came out to thank us for coming in right before we left. Great place, great service, and delicious food at about $20 per plate. The mai-tais were fantastic. We'll be back for sure.

Both the beef and chicken pad thai were the best I have ever had. The service was quick and the food came out fast. Menu has a nice selection of food and everything is reasonably priced. Overall an amazing authentic thai restaurant.

I've been here multiple times now. Food is always good. The panang curry is awesome. I also love the drunken noodles. Looking forward to trying other dishes. Two thumbs up 👍 👍
