Cactus Cafe Cantina, Jericho Turnpike

This is easily one of my favorite spots for lunch, and you really can't beat their specials! I will say, you definitely get the best experience when you dine in..everything comes out so hot and fresh, whereas I’m honestly not a big fan of doing takeout here since it just doesn't travel as well. I always go for the refried bean tacos because the flavor is 10/10, though I do wish they’d load them up with a few more beans sometimes! It’s also a perfect family spot; my daughter is obsessed with the kids' quesadilla and fries, and it looks so good that I’m always low-key jealous of her plate. Such a great place for a fresh, tasty meal.

Came in excited to sit in the restaurant and there was no music to set a mood for a good ten minutes while I stood waiting for anyone to acknowledge or greet me.. ended up ordering something to go .. nobody mentioned the loyalty program or asked if I was a part of it … watched as what I assumed to be a new female bartender stand around doing nothing but lean and maybe be on her phone .. while another guy walked from kitchen to front handling receipts and other things with a gloved hand presumed to be useful for food noticeably not switching the glove… in between going. In an out of the kitchen … stood by the fridge and could see such a thing easily by not being the height of a child.. presumably the server /bartender/counter worker all in one is spread to thin to give proper service or att

Came here for lunch. Jonathan was very helpful in pointing out specials and promoting restaurant overall. Though he was behind the bar, he came to our table frequently to make sure everything was to our liking. Austin, our server, was equally friendly and attentive. Bright dining room. Fun crowd. We will be coming back, and holding our Back-to-School Luncheon here!

Lunch special was a great deal and the food was delicious. I got the Carne Asada Quesadilla and my wife got the chicken Quesadilla. It came with a soup and drink. We added on a small nachos which was well sized. I appreciate the fast service in the middle of a work day. Will def be coming back for drinks and dinner soon!

Went here on a whim. Was pleasantly surprised! The food was great, had lots of flavor. Definitely Tex-Mex vibes. They have great specials and honestly priced really well compared to other restaurants in the area.
