Café Square One

Great bánh mì with a soft brioche bun and fresh veggies. The pork was flavorful and the pickled carrots and cucumbers added a nice crunch. Cozy café and friendly service. Would definitely come back!

I liked their strawberry matcha latte. I also really liked their beef bulgogi banh mi, the pulled pork one is just okay. Another time, I went 30 minutes before store closing at 4:30 and they said their kitchen is already closed. I told the woman working there that they should change their posted hours and she gave me a frown.

This is my to-go coffee and matcha shop at the Penn University District. The matcha is the best in the area and is very flavourful. They have a large selection of coffee too. Service is great and it is a great environment to have conversations with friends or just work. They also have a lot of breakfast options, including many vegan and vegetarian options and they are all great. I’ve been here about 10 times throughout my 3 week summer program and every single time I am pleased. Definitely check it out!

The quality of the breakfast was amazing! Different and fresh. They have variety of everything, even banh mi and Vietnamese coffee. It was very clean, even the kitchen which was exposed. The only complaint is that the orders took a little time. My partner got his order 3-4 minutes before me. We didn’t mind really, because we came to sit and enjoy the vibe. But if you are on a rush, it might not be the most successful. But again, absolutely worth a try, especially if you wanna spend some remote work time or social time. Another thing I liked was that we came from outside (26 degree) and the interior was not extremely warm for us (which can be the case in many restaurants) and the ventilation was really good.
