Chicaly Ice Cream Y Taqueria

I’ve been to this fruteria various times when it was the owners running it at their original spot in Hutchins (give or take 2 years ago). I gave it another try at their new location this past weekend and I will not be back. I ordered fresas con crema which were first given to me with 1/4 cup full of crema. So I asked if that’s how they always serve them the girl said “no” so she took them back and added some more cream but STILL only had crema halfway in the cup. This is definitely how fresas con crema are filled at all the fruterias I’ve been to ever. What’s the point in dresses con crema if there’s more strawberries than cream?!

This place is great I just wish it stayed open a bit later.

Chicken was tough n dry. And way over priced. I gave them a second chance and bought just 3 pints of beans and they were runny and they charged me 35 dollars.

This place is AMAZING! I’m from El Paso, Tx, right on the US/Mexican border where we take pride in our Mexican food. Chicaly would make some of my local places hang their heads in shame. I ordered barbacoa, al pastor and nopales a la mexicana tacos, (I wanted to try the chorizo tacos but they didn’t have any). But let me tell you the three that I had were out of this world!!! The salsas were just the right amount of hot and flavor. They gave the tacos that extra zing that made them that much better. I’ll tell you one thing, this little place definitely makes it’s mark in Hutchins, Tx. Make sure whenever your in the area you stop by and have some of their food. I’m gonna have to try the ice creams next time…I’ll be back every single time I come through here for sure!
