I don’t even know how i found this place, i think it probably was a recommendation off reddit, but i’m really glad that I did. I celebrated my anniversary here and surprisingly it was just my wife and I at the counter. It felt intimate and meaningful. We have eaten at many sushi restaurants from varying price points, and i’ve got to say this is probably the best place in New York that i’ve tried. When i say that every dish was delicious, it was an understatement. Everything was perfect and Robby Cook is just a great chef without question. If you care spare the money, love sushi and sashimi, rest assured this place checks all the boxes. You get thrills, frills, and a plethora of flavors and textures. Could not stop thinking about this meal, even as I write this review at 5 in the morning th
My partner and I dined on a Thursday night. This restaurant is hidden inside Point Seven. It felt very exclusive and intimate. The space was beautifully decorated and spacious for a 10-seater Omakase bar. I've travelled to many parts of Japan and I will have to say, the ingredients they use are comparable, if not, closest to what you'll find in Japan. I'm more of a traditional sushi gal and so for me, the latter part of the fixed menu were my favourite. On the other hand, my partner enjoyed the first part of the menu. He appreciated the complexity of the sauces mixed together with the sashimi. We don't drink alcohol so we ordered 2 non-alcoholic beverages. My favourite one tasted like a pina colada. It was so good we ordered it twice. Overall, for the price point and the freshness of th
One if the best omakases I've been to in the last year, Coral is tucked away in a beautiful dining room hidden behind Point Seven restaurant at the Met Life building. Chef Robby Cook uses premium quality seafood for his dishes and it's a nice mix of sashimi / crudo starters and sushi nigiri pieces. Each of the 17 courses is thoughtful, even the miso soup which had wild caught shrimp from Montauk. This meal was truly fantastic and felt personable.
Great spot and great people ! Chef was very kind and informative about each peice 👍🏾
Beautiful experience. Truly an exquisite meal 5 stars all around. The chef took my gluten allergy very seriously and checked in with me when I arrived, and made thoughtful alternatives for me when necessary. Thank you, Chef 🙏
