Dockers Restaurant, Fox Lake

We came for dinner late in a day on Wednesday. The place was busy with plenty of people dining. We chose a table on a high deck overlooking the lake with a small marina and relaxed watching sunset. We ordered Mexican burger and chicken sandwich meals. Portions were generous, each cost $17-$18. We found the sandwich, see the picture, to be exceptionally good value for the the money. It came with French fries and a salad. The fries were extra crispy, probably the best I have ever had. The service was great and the owner seemed to really care about the guests. Overall this was a great visit. We had a really good time in a beautiful scenery with the ownership that really cares. All that for a low price. Highly recommended.

Pros: Pretty views, fun atmosphere, plenty of seating. Lots of tables with views of the Fox Lake. Cons: Slow service, high prices for low quality food, not enough prime rib for Saturday night. Coconut shrimp looked a little bit dark, kind of crunchy. Croissant club sandwich was lacking a bit of pizzaz. It came with boring American cheese, and turkey that was a bit thick. Would be better if the croissant was slightly toasted. Came on a Saturday evening in August. Got seated right away, but the service was very slow. They likely need more servers and help. The $45 prime rib was completely sold out, so we weren’t able to try it. And that delayed our order because the server had to come back and ask for something different.

grossly overpriced, marijuana smoke every five minutes on the deck, you should just come to expect they're always out of prime rib but again they were out of prime rib settled for the coconut shrimp and it was deep-fried for 20 minutes not very good the club sandwiches were Walmart quality meat. about the only thing they got right was the cheeseburger which was overpriced and the mac & cheese. Service was extremely slow. Why would anybody wanna pay $75 for two lobster tails or a charbroiled steak for 50 bucks? about the only thing they got going for themselves is the cool view of the lake.

Great atmosphere, lake view and great food! Great for the whole family,couples and children. Patio seating available when weather permits! Plenty of parking! We had a great server Kelsey!

This gem of a place sits right on Fox Lake. The views from the deck are excellent. In the evening the sun's reflections/sunsets are perfect. The service is outstanding, although we have been told some weekends and holiday events are overwhelming. Most of the menu looks to be Sysco truck stuff, but the fried lake perch was very good. The ribs are ok, but there are better out there. Beer selection is limited, this is where the owners could step up and offer a bigger selection on tap or cans. Overall, highly recommend definitely worth the stop in!
