Fort Matanzas Beach Drive Access

We spent the day on the inland side of the bridge over the Matanzas inlet on A1A. We were in view of the Fort. Beautiful quiet day with the dogs fishing the channels around the sand bar. We saw a personal hydrofoil that looked like fun. Great place to spend a day and unwind.

Really nice beach, has some soft sand and harder sand Pretty slow grade out to the ocean so great for kids without a bunch of deep spots

This beach access is best during the week otherwise on the weekends the parking lots are full. There is so much beach here on both sides of the highway you are sure to find your own spot if you want to be away from people. The wooden boardwalk is nice and overlooks the intra coastal waterway (ICW). There is also a free walkway up by the Matanzas fort park including restrooms and good water for drinking.

Beautiful! This inlet has free pkg lot on beach side and inlet side. Peaceful and not too busy. Beautiful sunsets, gorgeous white sand. Amazing flora and fauna and dunes. Locates just North of the bridge is my favorite spot, on the beach/inlet, from Jacksonville to Titusville along A1A. I absolutely love it! Definitely worth checking out. The only negative is a bit of vehicle noise from the bridge. Also, Fort Mantanzas is 1 minute drive away. It's a free tourist attraction to see the for on the inlet. You take a small ferry to the fort. Just need to reserve your free tickets. You must show up, in person, to the fort office to reserve tickets for that days ferries. Check online for more info. Very nice beach. Although I did not drive on beach it is car accessible. I think there may be a charge but your car is right next to you. After the hurricane last year the shore line is smaller and if you go all the way to the south exit the beach is gone. Beach us still pretty good to drive for now
