Goodwin Tea House & More 古韵

A friend told me that Goodwin’s bubble tea could rival Glazed Tea, and that their beef bowls were also really good. So after picking up a pastry surprise bag nearby on Friday after work, I decided to stop by and check it out. As soon as I walked in, they were playing old Jay Chou songs—which instantly gave me a wave of nostalgia. Those were the songs we grew up with in the late ’90s and early 2000s. The decor matched the vibe perfectly too—retro and charming, making it a great spot to relax or hang out with friends. I ordered the classic braised pork rice bowl, an unsweetened Black Milk Tea (香韵和鸣), and the fried shrimp rice rolls. Everything was satisfying—the pork bowl was rich but not greasy, the milk tea had a deep, smooth flavor, and the shrimp rolls paired beautifully with the dipping

Goodwin Tea House & More is one of my favorite spots in Duluth. The Hot & Sour Fish with rice is always my go-to—flavorful, tangy, and perfectly spiced—while the chicken skewers appetizer is juicy and satisfying. I also love the Mango Che Che, which is refreshing and the perfect sweet finish to the meal. It’s a mostly self-service style restaurant, so you get up to fill your own water, grab condiments and to-go boxes near the cashier, and when you’re done eating, you return your bowl and toss trash in the hallway where there’s a cart. Portions are generous, service is quick, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a place I always enjoy coming back to.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is my sanctuary after a tiring day at work—the only place I go for that perfect, calm, and cozy vibe. I'm obsessed with their rich beef noodle, the uniquely delicious pickle fish with rice, and my all-time favorite milk tea. An absolute hidden gem for comfort and flavor.

We ordered the Abalone Seafood Satay Noodle Soup, which had a rich, nutty broth and plenty of seafood, and the Braised Pork Rice, which was super comforting. For snacks, the Popcorn Chicken and Fried Shrimp Roll were crispy and tasty, and the Brown Sugar Rice Cake was a nice sweet treat. Also, tips aren’t mandatory, which is a nice touch. Definitely coming back!

I'm addicted to their sour beef soup: garlicky, savory, and perfectly balanced. Filled with all of the best ingredients, like radish, mushrooms, glass noodles, cilantro. And actually mala numbing spice. I crave it at least once per week. Their appetizers are also some of the best that I have had in the area. My favorite being their handmade Fried Shrimp Rolls. The tofu crispy tofu skin on these rolls takes it to the next level. Also, their teas are so good here. Specifically their lime tea and their fresh taro. I just order both! No one else seems to get the memo that this shop's theme is the Jay Chou movie "Secret." Lowkey obsessed. Table ordering, just like in Asia on your phone. Love the accuracy and service.
