Little heat; no bacon. We looked at the reviews before choosing, and generally found good comments about their specialty grill cheeses and tomato soup. Granted it's an old building and we were in the middle of a week of cold and ice, but the only area warm enough to sit was in front of the heat vent and the bar. It was fine for us. The four of us ordered grill cheese sandwiches w tomato soup. However, the soup was not in a regular bowl, but a small dipping bowl. Very underwhelming. Our friends said their sandwiches - the Chesapeake and the Mac and Me were very good and enjoyable. The Upstate my wife and I received was questionable from first sight. The wheat bread was over grilled - after a few bites we looked "under the hood" and noticed the apple wood bacon was missing and saute
I love this spot! It’s called home sweet home for a reason. The vibe is awesome, it’s a really cool place with cool art, cool people, etc. best of all are the grilled cheeses! There are so many good ones on the menu. Outdoor patio is also great. Parking can be tricky but it’s worth it!
I had a mac n cheese sandwich. I was expecting it to be cheesier. The sweet potato fries had a hot spice on them that was not desired. The appetizer was good - pretzel bites. The server was the bartender and he did a great job. I enjoyed the atmosphere.
The food and waitstaff were great but the graffiti on the walls on the second floor was very inappropriate. Vulgar and sexually explicit. If you are bringing young children I would suggest not sitting upstairs.
Walked in and had to walk to bar. Was told to have a seat anywhere, sat by the front in on of the booths inside. Should have sat by the bar, because we were definitely forgot about. Another group came in and were given drinks before bartender came to our table. I was about to leave and we are handed some menus and asked what we wanted to drink, he apologized for forgetting about us (I knew that was the case) and we ordered waters because I didnt want to wait for him to come back. I assume if you drink alcohol, this is a nice place because they don't forget you're there. I wonder how you get served if you sit upstairs. If you haven't been here before, the vibe is not there. Next time I will go somewhere else. Food was good but not worth the wait. Reading other reviews. This seems to be the
