Il Giardino

Truly beautiful place. Excellent food. However, service was “interesting”: one person forgot our request, another brought wrong order, it took us time to get someone to get us 2nd cup of coffee. Interesting. Focusing on the good: Views are great and food is really good.

So listen, the service was amazing. But in this beautiful upscale hotel known for its views, this restaurant is in a parking lot? We got high tea, the tea was incredible, the quality of the items was exceptional, loved the mocktails. Just found the location so off putting.

Not sure how dining at this restaurant would be, but please do not order takeout. We wanted to try it, but since it was raining and the only seating was outdoors, we had no choice but to order takeout. Honestly, it was the worst experience ever. Check my photos: those are two salads for $26 each (plus tax and a 20% mandatory tip, even for takeout orders), and a plate of grilled vegetables for $16. Far from what you’d expect from a hotel of this category.

Recently stayed at Mr C Coconut Grove and Il Giardino is the creperie inside of the hotel. We visited for breakfast and were immediately seated. The space is truly a garden oasis. Quiet even in the midst of the bustling coconut grove neighborhood. The Bellini was refreshing and well balanced - the fruit was fresh and the croissants were so light and fluffy. Everything we ordered was amazing. There is valet parking for $48 per night and $20 for visitors. The staff were courteous and attentive. $$

The drinks and food are superb. The atmosphere is intimate and beautiful in the outside terrace. The barmen Jorge and Cristian go out of their way to make you feel special with their attentive and personal service. Adolfo, especially, provides outstanding personal service. I surely will be back.
