Island Jerk

We ordered food via UberEats and it came on time and warm. This was part of a bundle order and we ordered beef patties. We were definitely excited to try it as it's hard to find it where we live. We both enjoyed it as it was light and flaky. Maybe not the best snack to munch on if you're on a work call/meeting. This restaurant had many options for patties (chicken, beef, and with coco bread).

I've been eating here for years, one of the best Jamaican food you can find around that area. With that been said, the food is not the issue but there is this particular female that doesn't gives a rats ass about the business. I never got her name, but her attitude stinks. She doesn't greet customers and speak to everyone just the same, she wears some long eyelashes and move slower than snail even when there's a long line. She's always on her phone, nevermind the long line of customers waiting to place their order. I went in there one morning before work and I just wanted to get 2 patties but she was there talking on her phone and moving even more slower that morning and about 4 people was ahead of me in the line. I ordered on DoorDash but what arrived was heaven in a bowl. I ordered an oxtail rice bowl. The cake was mid.

I don’t know what happened to this place. I’m so disappointed. This place got 6 stars from me in the past. The entire atmosphere has changed and the food ? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CHEF? This was always my go to spot for a good plate of Jamaican food. This is so disappointing I’m upset. I spent 30.00 I’m not happy at all.

Their Goat Head Soup (Saturdays only) has a lot of lamb chunks but is too oily, and the dumplings in it is just okay. Their fish cakes are huge but have more batter than fish. The only dessert they sell is bread pudding. The staff is friendly to me, but I do not recommend this place. BBQ (The Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens) are “where it is at” for the best Jamaican.
