This is a really beautiful beach but there was only one safe place to enter the ocean (that I could see) and there was two large Hawaiian's sitting in it... so there really wasn't too much space to enter without entering their personal space. We ended up going to another beach for more swimming area.

This beach is a hidden gem! It sees very few visitors, even on weekend afternoons. While it's not a good spot for swimming, it's pristinely beautiful, with lots of white sand. There is even a picnic table in the shade with a million dollar view of the ocean. I highly recommend this beach for relaxing and getting away from the crowds.

This was my kids’ favorite beach in all of the big island. There are so many fun shells, rocks, and little crabs to find, they wanted to play all day. The bathrooms were locked, but there was a portable potty and picnic tables. Wear water shoes because the sand is quite coarse.

Very large beach that seems to not be as well known. It’s rocky and the waves are a little rough but there are plenty of little alcoves and pools to check out little fish, crabs, and urchins. If you pick up a handful of sand near the edge of the water there’s a good chance one of the tiny shells will be a hermit crab! The parking lot is huge and free and it’s easy to find a spot away from other people if you don’t like being in crowded places. We had a little section all to ourselves for about an hour in the middle of the day. We were even joined by a sea turtle who swam in and hanged out near us for a while. If you see a turtle, don’t chase it around or try to touch it. Just let it do it’s thing. This one nearly swam right into us before we even knew he was there.

Nice strip of beach. Wasn't too crowded at all on a weekday afternoon.
