Liv's Oyster Bar & Restaurant

While visiting Saybrook Ct. Someone mentioned Liv's Oyster Bar and Restaurant to us. We sat at the bar to have cocktails and dinner and we were fortunate enough to have Jamie as our bartender, server and food connoisseur. Jamie was very helpful to us for our decisions on dinner and appetizers. She was spot on with her knowledge of the food that they serve. We will definitely visit again when in the area.

What a great little spot! Amazing food, with the focus on raw bar and seafood. Nice atmosphere, great service. Extensive wine list. Nice artisan cocktail list. The truffle fries are amazing! I had the scallops and they were seared to perfection. My friend's salmon looked equally delicious. I would definitely go back. Very nice dining experience.

Have passed this place many times but because it is setback from the facade we never knew it was there. I discovered it on social media and was intrigued by the oysters at Happy Hour. My partner took advantage of the Rhode Island Oysters and clams on half shell. She loved them. I had the Wagyu "sliders" which were great. I was a little disappointed in the stuffed clams. I think there was too much Old Bay added to the dish. Service by both Brian our bartender and Bill the "sultan of shucking" was outstanding. We got there at 4:15 and it was fairly empty. By the time we left the bar was completely full and dining room was filling up, and that was on a Tuesday. I think the Happy Hour was a big hit. We absolutely will be back.

I have been to Liv's many times, but this past Saturday was truly incredible. The French 75 cocktail was perfect. The oysters were superb. The parmesan crusted cod with mushroom risotto was outrageous. Perfect elevated comfort food. The blackened tuna was expertly done. Perfect spice with no bitter char. The accompaniments were creative and outstanding. I've always enjoyed Liv's, but this was truly exceptional!!

Very nice place. Clean modern atmosphere. Great food and service. Asked for a private quiet table ahead of reservation and they delivered. Didn’t have to remind the staff. Will definitely go back.
