Louis Bay 2nd Public Library & Community Center

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a library where I felt the need to walk out and leave a review ! Worst library employees ever. Never going back to that place again. Even my young kids asked to never go back to the “mean lady” working in the children’s department. My boys and I were beyond respectful of the rules , the dog, and the woman inside! Your “library staff “ personnel ran after my 3 year old son and snatched his toy from his hands claiming he “stole” an ornament from the tree!!!! This is disgusting and disgraceful behavior of her and of whoever wrote this reply saying for us to go back to our hometown given we have access to all Bergen county libraries since the we live in Bergen county. Nice library for kids including a house they can go in, wall panels that allow them to move pieces around, a mini hot air balloone & more. Today we went on a scavenger hunt which had been set up by the librarians in the childrens room & our 5 year old had a great time while our 10 month old happily crawled around on the carpet & went into the house. They even gave out prizes for completing the scavenger hunt!

For the most part, this library is nice very quiet, peaceful and great for the kids. The only complaint I do have is the lady name Elaine she was Rude and very impatient. I have never been to that library to use the computer before and I wasn’t familiar with the computer and the apps, so when I asked Elaine a question it seemed like she was getting annoyed made me uncomfortable. That is not professional. She is not a people friendly person at all. I have to say that no one that works in a library should make a person feel uncomfortable. I am pretty reluctant to go to this library again.

The library has a quiet room where the desks have outlets, WiFi is available and the staff was very helpful. There is ample parking at the library and also at public parking immediately behind the library.

Love this library for my daughter! Unfortunately taking one star of since one of the employees in the kids section should really not be working there. She not friendly at all and seems to be annoyed each time we go. Our first visit here she told my daughter she couldn't have a prize after checking out in the wrong side… you don't say that to a kid. To note she works there on Wednesday nights.
