Really delicious bbq. I'd come back for it. Smokey, tangy, without being too much of these things. I won't be ordering any of their burgers again. Couldn't taste the patty. Good chili cheese fries. Fries little light on flavor by themselves. But texture isn't bad.
Promptly acknowledged and made my order with three people waiting on theirs. Within a couple minutes we all had our meal. No upselling. I ordered the big burger ATW with cheese and fries. When I thought to myself that I wanted a normal no fluff cheese burger I became pleasantly surprised after finishing my meal. Perfect meal and great American burger the way the should’ve made. Well done. Since 1961 and same location? That should tell you something.
My review is based solely on the food, customer service and experience was okay. I had a cheese burger and fries and mine had no flavor whatsoever. It’s like they grabbed it out the freezer and threw it in a pot of water and flatten it smaller than a McDonalds hamburger. The only flavor I had was the mustard. That’s literally all I tasted. Definitely falls top 3 in worst burger I ever had. Throw something on it. Sazon, pepper, salt. But hey, I guess people around here like flavorless stuff.
First visit to Roy's. Ptetty much what I expected based on reviews. The single patty burger was a classic presentation and acceptable. However, when coupled with cheese. lettuce, tomato, onions, etc, the meat got lost in the mix. Extra patty options are available but it starts getting very pricey. Friend had the basic cheeseburger with no toppings and said it was very good. On the bright side, the fried pickles were outstanding as was the dipping sauce. The chocolate shake was very good, as well, although very thick.
Roy's is a Richmond staple. Tradition. It's where generations of parents and grandparents haven't taken their kids and grandkids for lunch. In a drive through world it's a simple delicious experience that kids can have. Getting to watch the food being made through the window is a bonus for the kids. Burgers come one way BUT they have zero problems adding or subtracting whatever you want or don't want on them. PS they also have GOOD ICE 😉
