We went for dinner and left with hungry kids. They don’t have a kids menu, so we ordered off the regular menu for everyone. It didn’t go well. First off, the Pad Thai had very undercooked noodles and the sauce was cloyingly sweet. One of my kids refused to eat it at all, and she generally really likes Pad Thai. We got her chicken skewers to eat, but the peanut sauce it came with was quite spicy. Who makes spicy peanut sauce? I didn’t expect spicy peanut sauce, so I’d already given it to both kids before trying it myself. My preschooler panicked as soon as it was in his mouth. Besides all that, the cauliflower tempura was good for the adults at the table, but it was definitely spicier than its “one chili pepper” rating, so the kids wouldn’t eat that either. Some of the pieces were more mi
I was just in Thailand a month ago, and if I was served this food there I would have been happy with it! This is not mindblowing food, but everything was delicious and had a great value. The portion size was great. My wife and I each could only finish half of our plates, therefore getting 4 meals for the price of 2. The pad krapow especially had a very rich, deep flavor.
Awesomeness! Sabai is hands down one of my favorite spots in Richmond! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of great energy. The customer service is consistently top-notch—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff who make sure you’re taken care of every step of the way. Now let’s talk about the food—absolutely incredible! Every dish is packed with authentic Thai flavors, made with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. Whether you’re ordering a classic like Pad Thai or something a little more adventurous, the flavors are bold and satisfying. Their curries are rich and flavorful, and the small plates are perfect for sharing. Sabai strikes the perfect balance between great food, outstanding service, and a cool vibe. I highly recommend it to an
Best food and cocktails in Richmond. Ryan is the best bartender super attentive and very knowledgeable. A must visit in Richmond!!
This is the WORST thai restaurant, in my opinion! I’m on the road traveling and placed a pickup order. I ordered Kao Pad Ki Mao, fried banana, 1 Thai tea, and a pad Thai. First, they did NOT even provide utensils to eat whatsoever and if you’re like me and drove away, you have to get yourself one elsewhere. Then, NEVER in my life had I EVER had spicy Kao Pad Ki Mao (fried rice)! I wanted to share my fried rice with my 2 year old and it was spicy!! My baby cannot eat spicy!! Next, the pad Thai was EXTREMELY plain. It had NO sauce or taste. Lastly, they even FORGOT my Thai Tea!! I called them about the Thai Tea and they even responded they CANNOT issue a refund! Like wow, it couldn’t get better. Sadly it’s a waste of our time & money! Honestly disappointed! Never ever coming here.
