Smokey Shack BBQ

The meat was tasty and tender, however I am giving this a 4 Star because the sides were bland. Yes, the meat is the star of the show, but the sides are just as important. We got the potato salad, mac n cheese and coleslaw and they all could have used salt and some seasoning love. With that being said, the meat was great and since there aren’t many options for good bbq in New Mexico, this is a good option if you’re craving some smoked meats

As a California resident, I was very excited to try this place when I recently visited Albuquerque. The location is very easy to find, and I did appreciate the view on the drive from ABQ to Espanola. My boyfriend got the 2 meats plate (turkey and brisket) with the potato salad and brisket beans, & I ordered the BBQ brisket sandwich with potato salad, and I could not pass on the infamous peach cobbler. Let me say, this meal alone was worth the 14hr drive from California. The staff is amazing; the food is top notch and is a definite must visit place when in ABQ. I will definitely be back. Thanks Drew, your BBQ concoctions are masterful.

Nice little hole in the wall. Friendly staff, all dishes made in house, to include the delicious peach cobbler! Quick turn out of food, we went as a party of 6, with about 6 people in line or waiting for food. The food came out pretty quick. Great bark on the juicy brisket! The regular sauce was tasty and slightly sweet. Will definitely return when I'm in the area! Big thanks to the Smokey Shack!

This is one of the best BBQ spots I’ve been to. I’ve been to many in Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Kansas, Missouri etc. and Smokey Shack has some of the BEST brisket I have ever had. Flavor and crispiness were unbelievable. Prices are good. Service is fast and friendly. Our plates came out <5 min after we ordered. Sides were really good too - we got the brisket beans (unique meaty taste) and potato salad (has eggs in it which adds flavor). If you are looking for good BBQ, go to Smokey Shack!!!

We stopped in on the way by and we will be by every time we come through now! We had the brisket, burnt, ends and pulled pork. Every bite was second to none! Amazingly fresh and so moist. The texture was spot on and the spicy sauce was a medley of flavor that complimented all of it. The potato salad was not your run of the mill potato salad. The flavor was subtle and savory with a smooth texture that made you want another bite after every bite! The peach cobbler had just enough crisp and plenty of peaches. Not overly sweet, but perfectly balanced to complement the already fantastic meal. Super friendly staff with a great menu and plenty of knowledge to guide you in the right direction.
