South Milwaukee Public Library

Small and quiet but plenty of room to set up and study/work

We really love this library! There are so many wonderful activities for kids, and the play area is fantastic. My 3- and 5-year-olds especially love the scavenger hunts—they get so excited to visit every time.

South Milwaukee Library has so much to offer for it being a smaller library. The children's librarian Ms. Stephanie always has engaging, educational storytimes that the kids love. It is nice that the children's section is on a separate floor from the adults to not disturb people who are needing a quieter atmosphere. All of the librarians at the circulation desk are friendly and knowledgeable. The librarians are the truest resource. We love to see Ms. Rose whenever we walk into the library. She has enthusiasm for her work, and always adds kindness to our day with just a smile.

I love this place! Please everyone, vote for 2026 referendum to keep this lovely library funded for years to come 💚

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The shelves are well organized and I love discovering a good “Lucky Day” book find.
