Southern Grounds & Co.

We visited the Southern Grounds location in St. Augustine the day before coming here, and that location truly stood out for its atmosphere and service. Unfortunately, the Neptune Beach location didn’t quite have the same charm, and our drinks weren’t as good compared to what we had the day prior. That said, I still enjoy Southern Grounds overall and appreciate it far more than the typical corporate coffee chains. Even when one location doesn’t quite hit the mark, I still prefer supporting a brand that offers a more thoughtful, local coffee experience.

If you’re anywhere near the beach, do yourself a favor and stop by Southern Grounds on 1st Street. This place absolutely exceeded my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the service was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. The staff made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable, without ever feeling rushed. The tiramisu latte was incredible. Perfectly balanced, rich and smooth with just the right touch of sweetness. It truly tasted like dessert in a cup. And the croissant? Buttery, flaky, and baked to perfection. Every bite had that light, airy texture you hope for in a great pastry. Between the amazing service, the cozy atmosphere, and the quality of everything I ordered, this spot is an absolute gem in Neptune Beach. I’ll definitely be back!

Local beachside cafe with spacious outside seating area. Large selection of drinks and breakfast items. This place gets busy but the wait isn’t too bad.

Excellent food, coffee, and teas. The eggs Benedict were light and delicious. The chocolate croissant is flaky, tasty and sooo good! The lavender lemon cheesecake cookie was great. I would like the cookies by themselves too. Best Honey lavender latte around.

Great drinks, I had an amazing bagel with herb cream cheese and a summer special iced tea/lemonade and husband had a banana chocolate chip muffin with a macchiato. Daughter had a strawberry banana smoothie that she loved! Great atmosphere with a cute courtyard, lots of tables available with umbrellas for shade. Customer service was great as well.
