The Flats Restaurant & Tavern 675 Grooms Road, Clifton Park

We frequent the flats for dinner, and spent our first valentines there yesterday! The Valentines menu was such fair, if not generous to us, price for four courses! You can tell the owner and chefs and staff put a lot of thought and care into this. Every dish came out DELICIOUS, portions were big, and we even took some of the meal, appetizer and dessert home! Owner personally handed reservations which made every table get the service and love they deserved. Our items we picked were the crab and asparagus soup, crap dip with pita chips, ribeye with brocollini and potato, apple tart with ice cream, and white chocolate cherry bread pudding. ‘The Flats’ is our go to place for going out. The staff is awesome and the owner give the Chef a lot of flexibility making creative dishes. Love it, we are regulars. As they have the best deck for warm weather seating. Also the in house made deserts are spot on as well. Thanks to all The Flats staff and to Mel the owner! Keep up the great job!

Attended the Santa Brunch on Dec. 7th 2025. This is our 4th year in a row doing the Santa Brunch here. It is delightful. The food selection is great. I love the lobster Benedict ..Also some in our party had steak and eggs, scrambled eggs and home fries and sausage and .. Rudolph pancakes........ service is very attentive without being intrusive. Time to visit with Santa and take pictures. We are always so far a party of 7.. Not squeezed in very comfortable table... Kids get so excited seeing Santa. This is such a great place to have a tradition for the Holidays. Mel is a wonderful owner who takes pride in every aspect of his establishment. Even though our grandchildren are getting older we will continue to partake in this event as long as possible. Thanks Mel for this opport

The Flats restaurant is an absolute gem! Valentines Day 4 course menu was fantastic. The service was exceptional, thanks Max. We ordered the cream of crab & asparagus soup, herbed polenta cakes, cold water lobster, sea bass and finished off with white chocolate & cherry bread pudding. The food was excellent!

The Flats in Clifton Park is hands-down one of the best spots around. Christine and I come here weekly, and it’s like walking into Cheers—Mel (the amazing owner), Charlene, and Victoria always greet us like friends. The Flats Mixed Grill is unbelievable—beef filet medallions, grilled shrimp, a mini crab cake, garlic butter, sizzle sauce, roasted potatoes, and chef’s vegetables—all for $35. With the quality and portions, it could easily be a $50 plate. We’ve never left without a take-home box. From juicy burgers to weekly specials, everything is cooked to perfection. The wings? I’m a self-proclaimed critic, and they’re some of the best I’ve ever had. Drinks are generous with a great selection (my lady loves the variety).
