The Grill on the Alley

The steaks were good. Only thing was the temperature on the steaks were swapped between me any my guest. The dry aged steak had a great flavor but not overpowering. The cocktails were good.

Filet was melt-in-your-mouth, cooked medium rare just right. Good wine selection too. Service was attentive, they checked in without rushing us. A bit pricey but quality matches.

Everything was delicious. All the staff were highly professional. The oysters were devoured. The desserts were very tasty. The steaks were incredible. They even brought out some Brussels even though they were not on the menu.

Our party had extremely high expectations for The Grill on the Alley, but unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing from start to finish. We had a reservation on December 13th to celebrate a birthday for a party of 16, with a minimum spend requirement of $1,500. Prior to the event, the event coordinator failed to inform us that a large event would be taking place in the area the same evening. This resulted in severe traffic congestion and a lack of available parking, causing most of our party to arrive late through no fault of our own. Upon arrival, we were immediately frustrated to discover that the menu being offered was not the same as the menu advertised online. The majority of our party had reviewed the online menu ahead of time and had already decided what they wanted

We lived in San Jose for many years and enjoyed dining at the The Grill. Because of my job I had to move to So. Cal. My family and I returned for a hockey game and decided to dine at the Grill. We had a terrible experience. We had a 6:30 reservation and we were one of maybe two tables. The restaurant was completely empty. The food was not edible. Whether it was the calamari or the steaks nothing was prepared properly. The steaks were served at the wrong temperature and were served cold. The restaurant was understaffed and it is not their fault based off the circumstances they were given.
