The Honey Baked Ham Company

We have been purchasing Honey Baked Ham for the holidays and every day meals for 30+ years. I remember waiting in long lines out the door in other states prior to moving to Virginia. I remember way back when the store associates would uncover the front of the ham to see if it met the approval of the customer. We were pleased when the Honey Baked Ham store arrived in central Virginia. We have purchased all our hams at this location. Service and store associates are top notch. What is not top notch are the hams. It has become hit or miss. Today's purchase was a miss, one of several, and one too many. Sometimes we get one that is just like the one on their homepage and other times it's full of gristle. The ham I purchased today was for my elderly in laws. When I unpacked the ham at home, I

Very poor customer service when I stopped by today and was the only customer in the store. I was made to wait about 15 minutes as 2 employees talked on phones and then went to the back to slice the ham. Should not take this long to pick up a container of ham salad and 1 lb of slices. Not what I have experienced in other honey baked stores in other towns.

They have amazing food. The sandwiches are top tier. The customer service however is absolutely terrible and horrendous. Extremely argumentative and gaslighting. No type of greeting or acknowledgement when you walk in. Very dismissive of customers.

I preordered the prime rib just to find out it was out of stock when picking it up… what is the point of preorder if you were going to sell it to someone else?

Accidentally showed up ten minutes to closing (unaware of their new hours) and the staff was extremely kind to me regardless and made my order without hesitation/reservations (or at least none that they expressed to me)! Fantastic customer service regardless of labor shortages; thank you all for still helping me and for being so sweet about it!
