Just moved back to St Louis. First time trying pizza in the area. Kevin answers the phone, makes the pizza and is one of kind. The pizza was delicious, not spicy, has plenty of toppings. I ordered a sausage and black olives. It was and an extra large for under $25.00. I highly recommend Kevin's Place for a yummy Pizza in the city of STL.
It's Kevin, one of the most infamous people in St. Louis... if you haven't met him, you've probably heard stories or read about him in the Riverfront Times. He is a wonderful guy and I really miss being able to dine in and strike up conversations with him :( Kevin takes pizza seriously, and it pays off in dividends. Speaking as a connoisseur of the [rather divisive] St. Louis style pizza, I will confidently say that he makes the best I've ever had! The default cheese is provel, and sure you COULD substitute in mozzarella, but then why are you ordering from a StL pizza place? Typical of this style, the pizza sauce is a little sweet and the crust is thin with the perfect amount of crispiness. My go-to is always pineapple and jalapeno, which strikes the perfect balance of several different f
The pizza was amazing but Kevin wasn’t. We walked up there and he yelled at us for being a couple minutes past when he said the be there, and proceeded to make fun of us and talk crap as we were paying for the pizza I recommend the pizza but do not recommend Kevin…
Pizza was great- will definitely order again! Both warm and fresh, as well as, reheated leftovers- it tasted good. Ordered through the suggested app- timing was accurate to what was quoted. Pizza was delicious. It is what you hope for when you have a craving. I wish there were more descriptions or modifiers on items (salads, sandwiches, etc). The Caesar salad I got scratched my itch but was literally lettuce and dressing. I’m so down to pay for extra toppings but I also understand if that’s not their model. More like 4.5/5 stars with so much potential to be a solid 5. Delivery driver was very polite, which was refreshing.
The ordering experience was a bit odd in regard to picking up my order (which you are told not to do) in front of the store where i felt I shouldn’t have been. But all in all I the pizza was some of the best I’ve had and the customer service was great. Kevin was nice enough to make sure I knew where to pick up (which again, you shouldn’t do) and gave me a nice and hot pizza to take home. Good guy if you don’t mess around, don’t believe everything you hear.
