La connexion resto bar

Stopped in for lunch on our way back to Ontario from Nova Scotia. The waiter was very understanding with regards to our butchered French and accommodated all our food requests. We started w the cheese sticks, had the mac n cheese, chicken wrap and the clubhouse and we could not find a single thing to complain about. The food was fresh and delicious - perfect temperatures and huge portions! If we are ever in this Area again we will absolutely be stopping in again!

We walked in and were seated quite quickly, but waited for 20 minutes before we walked up the bar for menus. 10 minutes later, we walked up to the bar for drinks. We had the time to finish before we left cash on the table to leave to go somewhere else, before someone came to our table to say hi.

This restaurant and bar is pretty easy to find. During my visit, the place was empty. It was a nice and hot Saturday evening. I'm not sure why the place wasn't packed with people. I chose to eat outside so I can't speak of the cleanliness or decor inside. The seating outside was abundant but the 'waiting room' style chairs don't do much for the decor. The was no ambiance. They didn't even have music playing. At least the service was polite and friendly, though the waiter seemed surprised to have a client. There doesn't seem to be much reasoning to their menu. I'm not sure if they're trying to be a steak house, a pub and eatery, or an Italian restaurant. I was confused. I thought this was supposed to be an authentic African, or fusion restaurant. There was only a handful of Africa

I ordered a ribeye and a baked potato as did one other person with me. We didn’t get ribeye steaks. We got striploin that was very tough. I didn’t finish it. I asked for steak sauce but they don’t have any. There was 4 people in our party and no one was satisfied with their food. The ribs were tasteless. The waitress was very friendly and she did her best but the food was not good at all. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Service was inexplicably absent and it took close to an hour to get our food ordered. Their African menu isn’t actually available. The food wasn’t anything to write home about with dry/overcooked chicken and ribs. The place might be OK for drinks and late night grub, but anything else in town would be better suited for dinner.
