Ranger's Retreat

This was the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed at. The hosts were so welcoming and lovely. There were home made cookies and muffins out at all times of day. The breakfast was superb and we cancelled our high tea reservation because it was so good and filling. They make their jams and an amazing spread. My pictures do not do it justice. They also made scones, croissants and muffins and gave baggies for you to take them with you on your day trip. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The balcony looked over the garden (I was in the twins, that can be set up as twins or a king). The pool was open (mid Sept) and heated to 86F. There was also a steam room next to it. The gardens were peaceful and beautiful. I would absolutely stay here again.

We love the new layout of The Colonel's Chamber and, with the ceiling fan being removed, the lighting is much better for reading. The new air conditioner, while not “art”, does a great job. Our favourite parts of this room are the gorgeous bathroom with a huge shower and rainfall shower head and the balcony overlooking the heated pool and extensive gardens. Jan and Brian have outside help maintaining the beautiful gardens and this is evident with everything looking pristine.||The food, as always, is a feast for the eyes and tummy; quality ingredients expertly prepared by Brian and served by the ever smiling Jan. Having Sarah greet us and share our breakfast patio is a highlight we look forward to. ||Highly recommend.

Spectacular weekend stay! Spotless rooms with private showers! Lots to do (pool, lounge, steam shower, relax in garden)! Great hosts! FABULOUS BREAKFAST with considerations for allergies and preferences! Quiet neighbourhood! Felt safe inside and outside the home! Not exactly walkable, especially after sunset…HOWEVER, Don’t think twice—just book it! TRUST ME!

Been coming here for years. Excellent rooms and breakfast. The hospitality is exceptional and it is close to the downtown area as well as most of the wineries. Very welcoming and comfortable.

We discovered this bed and breakfast a few years ago and always return. Enjoyed a few days last week after not making it down to the area in almost 2 years. Brian and Yan are the best at what they do, they make you feel totally at home and breakfast cannot be beat. Enjoyed the pool and reading to avoid the weekend crowds in town and I was the perfect escape. Trust the reviews and thank us later. Thank you for being our happy place.
